Styling Harvard: High Tea Bridal Shower

high tea bridal showerPhew, last week was so busy! I am still exhausted from it. Over the weekend I worked,  had a hair appointment to hide these roots, an engagement party for one of my favorite couples and a bridal shower my for bff. The weekend was over in a flash. Since the shower details were a surprise, and Sammy, like the good bffl that she is, reads my blog I had to wait until the festivities were over to share her High Tea Bridal Shower details with you.

We held the shower at Sam’s parents’ house. They have an open floor plan so the living and dining area were cleared out to transform the space into an eclectic tea room. high tea bridal shower

The Chiavari chairs were rented, while the other chairs and tables were borrowed or taken from around the house. Pretty white linens and floral table runners from Home Goods gave the room a cohesive and sophisticated look.

Each place setting had a vintage teacup and saucer, 2 mini jars of jelly and a mini jar of clotted cream (I live for clotted cream!) When guests arrived, they were greeted with mimosas or orange juice and nibbled on mini scones and mini blueberry streusel muffins. Each bridesmaid had a teapot to serve the hot water to guests, who had a variety of teas to choose from at their table.high tea bridal shower high tea bridal shower

Once Sam had greeted everyone, the bridal party served tiered plate stands of tea sandwiches which included cranberry pecan chicken salad, egg salad, ham and cheese rounds, and cucumber sandwiches (my favorite!). The other tier had assorted mini pastries like eclairs and cream puffs. Yum! high tea bridal showerhigh tea bridal shower high tea bridal shower

When it was gift time, we passed out these bridal shower bingo cards to the guests. Each guest filled out the card with what they thought Sam would receive and passed the card to their right. When a guest got bingo, they received a cute tea themed prize!high tea bridal shower bingo

All the guests were encouraged to wear a fancy hat or fascinator.high tea bridal shower Since I’m the Anglophile queen, I of course went with a British theme for my fascinator. We had a contest for best head piece.high tea bridal shower Each bridesmaid chose their favorite and then the crowd voted for the top winner. She received a tea themed hat box full of all kinds of goodies. high tea bridal shower

Everything came together beautifully and the weather was perfect! Less than 2 months until the big day! Cheers to the soon-to-be Mrs!! High Tea Bridal Shower
