Styling Harvard: 4th of July

Styling Harvard Patriotic decorHello my Yankee Doodles and Happy 4th of July weekend! I hope you’re all gearing up for a fun and safe holiday with family and friends. We are heading to my father-in-law’s house for some festivities on the 4th and plan on squeezing in as much beach time as we can. Last year we hosted a little backyard get together. I wanted to go very vintage Americana with our theme. We had so much fun that I forgot to take pictures of everything. Here’s a few peeks at what I have.

We added bunting to our fence and set up a table with a s’mores station and sparklers along with a big glass apothecary jar of cherries. I love cherries but something about them on the 4th of July makes them taste even better! I used the vintage bike from our wedding and added bunting to that as well. So easy and everyone loved it. Styling Harvard 4th of JulyStyling Harvard 4th of JulyStyling Harvard 4th of July

I love when even the drinks match so I printed out some free water bottle wraps and threw them in the drink bucket with the beer and of course, glass Coke bottles. I love using the glass bottles for a lot of the vintage themed parties we host. Classic Americana. Styling Harvard 4th of July

We kept things simple with red plastic hamburger and hot dog baskets where guests could choose their toppings. Also on that table, we set up a family favorite: Coffee Malts!  This was a staple in my dad’s house growing up and then again in ours when I was little. We set up a tray with vintage looking Coca-cola glasses and paper straws and made a few batches. So yummy! Styling Harvard 4th of July Styling Harvard 4th of July

I made up some favor bags with inexpensive items from Dollar Tree and the Dollar Spot at Target. Ben decked himself out in sunglasses and patriotic rings!Styling Harvard 4th of July

Inside this year, I’ve kept my Memorial Day decorations up to make things easy. The pictures on the mantle are my two uncles on the left and right and my great-grandfather in the middle. My dad recently gave me their US Navy pictures so I could display it for the holidays. I love seeing them up there! Styling Harvard Patriotic decorStyling Harvard Patriotic decorStyling Harvard Patriotic decorHave a wonderful holiday, everyone! I’m working on some fresh new posts so be sure to check back soon!
