Styling Harvard: We Caught the Shutter Bug – Part 2

We have been very lazy over here on Harvard. Between my sister being sick and Easter, things have been hectic. Jame and I were craving some normalcy in our lives, hence our laissez faire attitudes. Break time is over. The weekend warriors will be back in action Saturday.

Some of you may be wondering what happened with our shutter project. I know, I know, I have certainly been slacking. Since you must be on the edge of your seat to see our shutters (wink, wink), I’ll fill you in on what happened. A waste of time and money, that’s what happened. We bought what we thought was a good color grey spray paint. Here’s the before. We Caught the Shutter Bug: shutters before  This is what it looks like 4 coats later. We Caught the Shutter Bug: shutters after Blech. It looks almost the same. The grey is just way too dark and used up so much spray paint. It looked good for about 5 minutes when the sun was hitting it perfectly.shutters spray painted So this weekend we’ll be catching the shutter bug again. Jamie’s goal is to get the front door stripped, sanded down and the cracks filled in so we can paint it. I’m in love with Benjamin Moore’s Stormy Monday. While Jamie is busy with the door, I’ll be using a good ole paintbrush on the shutters. We probably should have done this from the beginning but my spray painting addiction got the best of me. At least this way the door and shutters will be the same color. Stay tuned to see the final look. I promise I won’t leave you hanging for so long this time!

Happy Friday, friends!
