Styling Harvard: We Caught the Shutter Bug – Part 3

Styling HarvardIt’s a beautiful day today! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We spent our weekend working outside before meeting up for a nice family dinner celebration at one of our favorite local restaurants.
With our crazy schedules, I can’t remember the last time the 8 of us went out to dinner together. Usually someone is always missing.  What were we celebrating, you ask? Life. And each other. There’s nothing like a brush with death to help put your priorities back in perspective.  We had a great time just being together and enjoying each other’s company. We are just so thankful for all our blessings.

But, before all the fun, there was lots of work to be done. Unfortunately, Mother Nature put a stop to our original plan. It rained all weekend. The shutters were way too wet to try and paint. I’m beginning to feel like this project will never get done. Before the rain came on Sunday, we did some work in the front yard to try and get the grass to grow. We put down some top soil and more seed in hopes that it will fill in all the bald spots. We officially met one of our neighbors while we were out there. She was so lovely. She told us that the previous owner spent a small fortune trying to get the grass to fill in out there but to no avail. She’s the second neighbor to tell us that. It doesn’t give me much hope, to be honest. If this latest attempt doesn’t work, next year we will most likely end up ripping it all up and putting sod down. Fingers crossed it doesn’t come to that.

And so, our shutter bug project continues on into next weekend. Here’s hoping the weather cooperates for us!

Have a great week everyone!
